Cartoon Wars?

Going to war over a cartoon? Is this something an enlightened species does? Millions of Muslims seem to think so. Apparently a cartoon originally printed in a Danish newspaper has offended their religious sensibilities. So much so they are demanding anyone connected with the cartoon be immediately beheaded, and a worldwide jihad (holy war) be launched against the so-called infidels (otherwise known as the rest of the world).

This must be some cartoon! One can only imagine what sort of obscene, depraved image could have whipped these people into such a frenzy that they pour into the streets by the hundreds of thousands, chanting about death and war and beheading, shooting guns, and burning effigies, cars, and buildings. What kind of cartoon could possibly evoke such hate and destruction? It must be something really grotesque!

Well, folks, I am going to risk the outrage of the entire Muslim world, and show you the cartoon causing all this trouble - not because I think the cartoon has any merit (because it doesn't), but because the violent worldwide furor being raised by Muslims themselves has now made this cartoon a legitimate news item. People have already been killed over this cartoon! If there's going to be a global jihad because of it, and more people are going to hurt, quite possibly a lot more people, the public at large has a right to know what caused it all. So... are you ready? Send the kids out of the room, take a deep breath, sit down, hold each other's hands, here goes...

That's just a tad more brutal, wouldn't you say? But Muslims have no problem with this picture. Because the figures being depicted gleefully drinking human blood are Jews! And these cartoons are printed in Arab newspapers on a daily basis! Words like hypocrisy, and double standards come to mind.

Now I have some words for all the Muslims threatening worldwide violence and mayhem over this: Grow up! LIGHTEN UP! Get a life! It's just a cartoon! And not only that... IT'S JUST A FUCKING CARTOON!
